Tomodachi x MT Tape / Mall of America


Bishop/Iverson worked with Mall of America-based pop culture toy store and gallery, Tomodachi, to produce and curate an art exhibit and event that doubled as an in-store product launch for mt tape, a high-quality Japanese washi tape brand. 20 local and national artists were tasked with creating custom works of art using the colorful masking tape. From three dimensional objects and framed works of art, to wall and floor installations, to elaborate garments created by two Project Runway alums, the exhibit showcased the product’s dynamic range of creative use and introduced artists to a new medium.

In addition to curation, production, and in-store exhibit design, Bishop/Iverson assisted with publicity and marketing strategy, event production, vendor and sponsorship outreach, copywriting, and graphic design.

We continued to work with Tomodachi on additional events that drew thousands of attendees, including two “Pusheen Party” events in collaboration with major toy retailer Gund.
